PWA understands and embraces how BIM has and continues to revolutionise the design process, how buildings are designed, constructed, managed and maintained. With our collaborative mentality we aim to be at the forefront of the BIM processes.
We look to lead the design team in order to produce designs which are accurately coordinated with the benefits to our clients of risk reduction, cost accuracy, construction programme improvements, enhanced sustainability, better safety and a reduction in the waste of both time and physical resources.
At the end of the design and construction stage BIM provides improved information to both end-users and landlords in order for them to manage the lifetime costs of a building. We have first-hand experience with clients new to BIM seeing these benefits throughout the design process.
PWA are working towards BIM Level 2 in 2D and 3D within a Common Data Environment (CDE) following the principles of BS 1192:2007 + A2:2016 utilising a variety of tools including 3D Autodesk Revit and Navisworks software. Our continual development and investment in technology and training are testament to our commitment to delivering BIM projects. All of our workstations have the latest BIM software installed and all staff are trained and encouraged to utilise it fully from the outset of each project.
We believe working in the 3D environment also allows clients, contractors, sub-contractors and the other groups to observe and interact in a virtual environment helping to realise the key external and internal spaces conceived. This combined with productivity and cost benefits leads to a much improved experience and enhanced end product.
